WILL TAKE YOU THERE...

Here's my sister-in-law and the triplets
Cake time and friends
More friends, when it was time to light the
candles on the cake, for some reason
I only put 5 candles on the cake instead of 7
not sure what I was thinking
We had fun, the weather was great,
the water was cool, Chase got lots of cool
stuff from his friends and family
and all turned out well
in the end, crazy boys...
The dentist said we were very lucky as
she sent 2 boys to Phoenix Children's Hospital
the day before. One with a similar injury to Chase's
only that little boy fractured his jaw and one who
was hit in the mouth by a golf club.
Chase is loving the attention and all the milkshakes.
The dentist said the teeth weren't ready to come
out yet, so we are looking at a toothless smile
for at least 6-9 months...
my poor snaggle toothed boy...

Tonight we had Chase's Birthday Party. A swimming party. Things went very well until the last 10 minutes. I spent all night alittle concerned for all the little ones who were in the pool. There were 3 town lifeguards so I knew we were safe on that score. But you always hear about near drownings or drownings when there are large groups of people. No, no one drowned. Worse, we lost 2 little boys.
There mom came to get them and we couldn't find them. Now you're thinking how did you lose them? It had only been 5 minutes since I had seen them last and just about 3 minutes since another parent reported seeing 2 little boys with beach balls walking down the road. Well as we were walking back and forth, loading up, some how in all the comotion, these 2 little guys slipped out the gate. We had lots of people looking for them and even the police.
Finally, after I start to fear the worse, like they were taken or that someone was going to run them over and not see them in the dark, I ask their mom to step around her van so we can say a prayer. Now it's been about 15 minutes and they can't be found anywhere. We say our prayer and about 3 minutes later the mom gets a call that the boys had walked to their granny's house. We instantly were relieved, but I still felt bad. Ultimately Nate and I were responsible. Did this little boy disobey his mom and leave when she told him she would pick him up, yes he did, but still he was at our party and let me tell you the fear I felt as time continued to go by is undescribeable.
Lessons learned:
Prayer REALLY WORKS
Little boys sometimes make crazy decisions that there is no reasoning with
Watch my child and anyone else's much closer,(we were watching them but apparetnly not close enough) even when their mom is parked outside the pool. Never think with all these adults all will be fine, because sometimes it's just not.
I am so gratefull that my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers.
Maybe tomorrow I won't be so emotional and I'll be able to post pictures of Chase's party.

I couldn't sleep, my knee is killing me tonight. I was looking for some scouting ideas and found some of these on Baloo's Bugle...
Why does a round pizza come in a square box?
Why is it that people say they slept like a "baby', when babies wake up like eveery two hours?
Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dogs face, they don't like it, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?
Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?
Why did you just try singing the two songs above?
What do you call male ballerinas?
Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, that no decent human being would eat?
Still can't sleep...food for thought...still didn't find any good scout ideas... who cares???
I can't believe that Chase turned 7 yesterday. I remember when we found out that we were pregnant with him. This is a long post and long slide show so move on if you don't want to see or hear it.
I remember being 5 weeks along when the pee stick was +, then 8 weeks along when I started all the shots to try and stay pregnant with him. Every week for 8 weeks I had to have an injection. By the time I was done, I had a matching set of 8 quarter size bruises on each butt cheek from the shots.
Week 11 I start bleeding and we think OH NO, we're gonna loose this one too. Week 20 we find out it's a boy. Week 28 I go on bed rest and week 34 and 1/2, they induce me due to heart failure and kidney failure. I was determined not to have a c-section, but after 24 hours of labor and very little progress, Chase started to show signs of distress and I had a fever. I balled my head off when we couldn't reach Nate. He had gone home to let the puppies out to pee. He got back and 20 minutes later Chase was here, safe and sound. They scared us and said he might be 3 lbs. He was 5 lbs, 11 oz and he'd need them to breathe for him. He spent one night in the special nursery and the rest with me. 8 days later we got to go home due to my infection. 2 days later my c-section site opened up and I had to have my wound packed until Chase was 14 weeks old. It sucked, but is was so worth it and I'd do it all over ago to be blessed with such a sweet and funny child as Chase is.
Chase has been such a joy to have in our home and he is so funny. Like the time he copied Pop's potty mouth and said, "Well for hells sakes, there's a gopher hole in the garden" or when he asked Gram, "Why do you have cracks in your face?". He got me with, "Mom, when are you gonna dye your lighting bolts( my gray hairs )?". He's also a sweetie, like the time he asked if he could marry me and I had to break the news that I was already married to his dad. It crushed his heart and he than asks, "When do I get to have a girlfriend to marry someday?", I told him after he got home from his mission. Then there's the times he yells thru the house, "Woman, where are you?". He constantly cracks me up.
He's picky too, can't stand tags in his shirts, has to have the tag on his pillow in the opening of the pillow case so he can rub it to tatters. He still calls his blanket, his "lankey". He has to have a new tube of tooth paste every week, so I have to by the travel size to accomodate this qwerk. He's a trooper, he has been thru 7 sets of tubes in his ears, his tonsils removed, his adnoids removed and a another surgery in addition to all those.
He loves anything Army, Star Wars or Dinosaur and has to have two of all his toys. 2 tanks,2 matching swords, 2 of the same dinosaurs, 2 of everything, it gets quite annoying at times, when a store only has one. His Pop and Gram will go to the ends of the earth to see he has 2. He loves his cousins, Paige, Seth, Wyatt, Ethen and the "Girls".
I am so gratefull that Heavenly Father trusted us enough to send you here. I am so blessed to call you my son.
I love you buddy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

(whatever you want to call it)
and ran across this link on
a blog called Design Mom.
They actually include directions
to create the animals, how cool is that.

(Not sure what Yamaha Motors has
to do with this, but they rock in the
paper animal department)
